Is Delta β 8 β THC legal?
Due to the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp, which is defined as cannabis with less than 0.3% Delta β 9 β THC by mass, is legal on a federal level. In other words, if the product (Delta β 8 β THC Distillate) contains less than 0.3% Delta β 9 β THC, then the product is legal in the 46 states (excluding Idaho, Mississippi, New Hampshire, and South Dakota) where hemp has been legalized.
Does Delta β 8 β THC have psychotropic abilities? / Similarities
Delta β 8 β THC and Delta β 9 β THC are similar on the molecular level, and therefore also interact with the body in similar ways. Delta β 8 β THC essentially has less binding potential regarding receptors in the brain, so the Delta β 8 compound binds to the same receptors as Delta β 9 and is therefore treated by the brain in alike manners. In terms of the over-all psychoactive effects, consumers can expect a much more mellow experience without much of the mind-racing effects of the Delta β 9 compound. Of course the experience for every consumer is subjective and differs, so always consume safely and responsibly.
Will Delta β 8 cause a failed drug-screening?
Due to the similar molecular structure of the compounds of Delta β 9 and Delta β 8, most of the research being done today shows that the consumption of the Delta β 8 compound may cause a false positive result regarding drug screenings. Again, always consume safely and responsibly.
